Freeform NEW western saddle

Freeform Newest Western Treeless Saddle

Paulita Neff February 18, 2016

Freeform’s newest Treeless Western Barrel Saddle:  The Virginian.

The Virginian Western Barrel saddle by Freeform. Our wonderful new creation from Italy! The Virginian is designed with a woman’s comfort in mind. A large deep cantle to keep you safely tucked in the saddle whether you’re out all day on the trail, or in the ring. Our new narrow Cleburn seat along with a nice Y bolster will create the perfect twist for your hips. The Velcro bolster is removable if you’d like a flatter seat.  We have placed our fork a bit more forward than the standard Freeform Western Barrel saddle to allow for the perfect leg placement with the adjustable fenders. This allows you to sit and be comfy in the absolute best seat possible in a western saddle. Yiihaa!

Fitting your horse(s)

As for fitting your wonderful horse(s), the Freeform Virginian comes standard with the large D cinching to hit the correct girth groove.  Also standard with cutback for high withers (fits great on non-withered horses, too) and Velcro to accept our panel system if needed for hard-to-fit horses or heavier riders.  Visit our fitting page for more info on saddle fitting.

Treeless saddle with a twist

Paulita says: “My two cents: I personally am not a western rider, BUT have fallen in LOVE with this saddle. On our trip to Italy in Nov 2015, Susie and I worked hard with Guendalina and Zeina at the Freeform saddle factory to create a western saddle that you would not feel so barreled when seated in it.  I have found lots of the ”others” make me feel so rounded in the saddle that I don’t have balance and my hips hurt.  Hence the needed bolster for the twist and narrower seat.  Look out, you may see me out on the trail in a western saddle now.”

Introductory price of $2495.00 .

“I'm in love with the Ultimate Trail saddle and what it's done for my horse!

I had gone looking for an alternative to my bespoke County saddle when my horse Blanco finally started coming back into work after a long bout of lameness. That’s when I discovered the treeless saddle & after much research contacted Paulita. We talked about what I wanted and what Blanco needed.

We've never been happier. I’ve had the Ultimate Trail saddle and Freeform pad for a year now. We’ve come so far. Blanco’s back is still changing, but through it all the saddle has fit both of us perfectly.”

“Just wanted to give you a little Svenna update- she has changed SO MUCH since I bought the Freeform. Her back looks incredible. Really, her whole body has muscled up properly because she can get over the back and really work.

"I love riding in it (more balanced than my $4000 custom saddle ever was), although it probably took a solid two or three months to get the panels and stirrups placed juuuust right. Now it's absolutely perfect. Svenna loves it, too. She moves out great in it.

"I ended up putting the panels pretty far back and with a very wide spinal channel. It is super balanced and stable on her very round back - I can even get on from the ground if I absolutely have to. I also like how the front part of the panel fills in under my knee; it makes the saddle fit me a bit better and more securely. It took a lot of fussing to figure out this arrangement, I tried lots of different pads and panel placements, but I'm very happy with the result. Her sweat marks have also been great with this arrangement." READ THE WHOLE STORY..”
