We’ve just returned from a wonderful trip to Oregon. Jeff and I were so grateful to be invited to stay with Candy Kahn of Athletic Equine and her husband Larry. They have a beautiful home with an extraordinary view of the surrounding mountains. She gracefully took time to work with me on saddle fitting and showed me some new products from Freeform, like the shorter fenders and new western rigging. It was lovely to spend time with both Candy and Larry. His work helping folks in need shows his big heart. It is inspirational to see how passionate he is.
Jeff and I spent a day in Ashland visiting all the cool shops and having a lovely lunch with Trish. What a great little town!
We moved on to spend a few wonderful days with Steph and Don at their amazing home along the Rogue River. Jeff was able to spend a few days fishing with Don. Salmon was the goal. But trout seemed like what was biting. Don showed off his great cooking! Our trip together to Crater Lake was an awesome, beautiful day with friends! The lake is something everyone should experience. We finished the day with a yummy dinner!
Thanks to my friends Trish and Julie, I was able to fulfill a dream. Trish was so nice to loan me her great horse Journey. He is a young Rocky Mountain horse, a kind and gentle soul, and he wears a Freeform FreeGait saddle. The ladies took me for a beautiful ride on the Pacific Crest Trail, a memory I will always treasure. The weather was perfect and the company was even better! The view of Ashland Oregon, the Siskiyou Mountain range, and the large trees was beautiful. Trish provided a gourmet lunch lakeside. Wow! If every day could be like that…..
Jeff and I spent a few days driving through the Northern California coast and the Redwood National Forest. Words cannot describe this trip. The trees are unbelievable large. They speak to you. You can feel the life and wisdom in the forest. This is an experience everyone should take time to do. Please visit the trees. That sounds funny, but it’s life-changing! Even in the rain. Walking through the trails among the redwoods is breath-taking. The Roosevelt Elk are a sight to see while visiting the coast, too.
Thank you everyone for sharing your hearts, homes and horses with us. I feel we have made some great friendships on our trip. We so enjoyed our time and will be back soon….
