Why are Freeform treeless saddles beneficial for horses and riders?
Freeform saddles are beneficial to both the horse and rider as it increases comfort and communication. If it fits the horse, the horse is more willing to listen and learn. If the saddle fits the rider it increases the riders confidence and stability, making them a better rider for their horse.
What challenges have you and your horse had with saddles and saddle fit?
The biggest challenge I’ve had with treed saddles is that I am drawn to compact, short backed horses and finding a tree that fits that area correctly can be a challenge. Additionally, having a treeless saddle would make it easier for me to switch between my mutton withered arabian and my high withered Thoroughbred without needing so many different saddles. Additionally, I’ve never been able to afford a saddle that actually fits me too, and with a chronically hurting back (from a car accident I was in as a 9 year old) it would certainly boost my confidence!
How will a Freeform saddle specifically help you and your horse? I believe it would help, specifically, my Thoroughbred and I have a better, more comfortable connection while being ridden. Certainly better for him than the adjustable gullet saddles! And knowing that he feels great would help me know that I’m doing my absolute best by him.
Thank you for the opportunity! It would be a relationship altering thing to win this saddle!

I am a meticulous researcher and avid reader, as well as a (currently) part-time equine body worker. Through my explorations, Freeform saddles have risen to the top every time. From online forums raving about fit, comfort and flexibility, to AERC riders discussing improvements in stride, gaits and no back soreness, it is clear that these saddles are beautifully made with both the horse and rider in mind. They are the leading treeless saddle, and allow for freedom of movement, engagement of the thoracic sling, and are adjustable to allow for a custom fit as muscles grow and change. I have worked on many horses with back pain, shortened muscle fibers and adhesions directly caused by saddle trees. Freeform saddles allow the muscles to lift and grow without impingement, while protecting the spine from impact.
My horse, Bravo, is adopted from the largest horse rescue mission in American history. The Hallelujah horses include 907 mustang horses rescued from starvation in South Dakota. I am so grateful he has his forever home with me, and that comes with insuring his absolute comfort and well being. We have been through countless saddles looking for the right fit including shipping and trials from across the country. I am obsessed with finding the right one. He has shark-fin withers, a short back, and he is gaited. It has been a journey! We are both ready for our years-long search to be over.
Bravo deserves the best saddle. We love the adjustability for custom fitting, and it will provide hours of comfort for longer rides. We hope to start doing some Limited Distance rides, but need the saddle that will support him so his back stays supple and engaged. I look forward to fully experiencing the benefits of a Freeform saddle and sharing with my equine massage clients! This saddle would be a game changer, since a new one just hasn’t been in the budget. Summer is just around the corner and we hope to be trotting down the trails soon in comfort and style with a new Freeform!

I’ve heard such wonderful things about Free Form Saddles! How they fit “ hard to fit” horses, AND riders. As an older rider, with aches and pains, that’s an incredibly important point
I have a gelding the shape of a basketball, I’ve either had to “ cinch him in two”, or ( my choice) , to cinch him so loosely that I’m basically just balancing on top of him. Makes going up or down hills problematic for sure, and the only way to mount is by finding some sort of aid, so the saddle doesn’t just turn. Not particularly safe.
This saddle would besides making trails more accessible for this old girl, would be transferable to other horses, a very real concern for someone on a fixed income

Freeform saddles offer comfort and balance to both the horse and rider. There are several different models that can be tailored to fit you, your horse and your needs. I love the fact that narrow twists are an option in some cases.
Most of the tree less saddles I’ve tried don’t offer a lot of “feel”. They are like sitting on an overstuffed couch. I own several wide and short backed mustangs. Tree less saddles tend to want to roll on them. I need a saddle that fits and stays put in order to balance with my horse.
I feel that a Freeform will meet both mine and my horses needs, keeping us both comfortable and balanced.

Freeform saddles are beneficial for the horse to allow free range of movement through the gaits. Freeform saddles are extremely comfortable for the rider and allow the rider to feel the horses movements underneath them.
My mare is short backed and has very wide shoulders so fitting a treed saddle was proven to be difficult to not impede her movements and allow natural swing of her back. I suffer from back pain myself and I was having a difficult time finding a saddle that didn’t cause tailbone, low back and hip pain until I found the ultimate trail freeform saddle !
Freeform has helped my horse move better and be more forward. Freeform has helped me be pain free in the saddle as well as really feel my horse under me!

Freeform saddles are a very well made, comfortable saddle for both rider and horse.
I recently adopted a standardbred that has a big shoulder and a big way of going. I struggle with fitting a regular treed saddle that does not interfere with her shoulder movement. I hope to do some endurance rides with this horse and
I believe a freeform will free up her shoulder and back so she will be more comfortable and willing to move out. Therefore, a happier horse. I have had the opportunity to ride in a freeform classic. I found the saddle so comfortable to ride in and more importantly ,a very happy, relaxed horse.
