It appears that the Freeform saddles adjust the best to horse and rider. The gel seat would be a huge plus especially for women as it fits the pelvic bones (thank you)! It also is less restrictive for the horse compared to other saddles. The lightweight feature of these saddles would be great. As we age, lugging and tossing the heavy saddles becomes a challenge, especially on taller horses. As a beginner rider anything that can help put a rider into balance is a useful tool.
I’m struggling to find a saddle that fits both our rescued mustang and our 13.2 pony. The mustang is incredibly high withered with narrower back and the pony is short backed with higher withers, but very stocky.
I feel this saddle could be the answer to the problem I’m facing finding a fit for both as well as giving me the comfort I need on the trail. We ride around the farm, and hope to do some longer trail rides as our learning continues, and we grow in our horsemanship journey. The mustang is an older fella and anything I can do to make his exercise more comfortable is my goal. Just getting the horses has made it less cost effective to buy saddles to fit each. We have two different used saddles but they fit the horses and aren’t as comfortable for us. A member of the horse community told me if you have a good horse and a good saddle you’ll look for excuses to ride. If you have a bad horse or a bad saddle you’ll look for excuses not to. I believe there is truth in this. We’ve found out good horses. Now we just need the saddle that makes our comfort match theirs. This could be it!

Freeform Saddles are the BEST!
Before I got my Freeform 13 years ago, I’d bought and resold 6 other saddles. Then I tried a Freeform, it’s the only saddle I’ve ridden in since. Almost 5,000 recorded miles endurance riding and countless more riding trail and conditioning. Four horses – same original saddle. Still going strong.

I know others who have a Freeform saddle. Benefits are flexibility to use on any horse, I could use on both of mine who have very different bodies. The light weight would help me immensely, racking up and weight my horse carries.
My horse is narrow it has taken me years to find the right saddle for him, that words for me as well.
This type of saddle would give me closer contact with my horse. The flexibility would make him more comfortable on our rides. The treeless saddle would change with both of us over the years as we both become more mature.

I absolutely love these saddles. They fit all my horses ( I have 11 rescues) of all sizes and shapes without any issues. They allow me to ride comfortably for hrs in the saddle because at 65 my knees would hurt in my other saddles but my Freeform is by far the most comfortable saddle I’ve ever rode in …..another bonus to owning a Freeform is I can get it up on the horse easily because there lightweight.😊 thank you for making a great saddle!

Why are Freeform treeless saddles beneficial for horses and riders?
I think that whenever you have a saddle specifically built and designed for the comfort of the horse and proper balance of the rider like this then it’s going to benefit both. It would benefit the horse in sports like Endurance riding where soundness, gait, attitude, and back palpitations are all scored and judged.
What challenges have you and your horse had with saddles and saddle fit?
Over the years, I have found that my mare prefers treeless saddles, and she ends up presenting with minor soundness issues when ridden in a treed saddle (even when fit correctly.)
How will a Freeform saddle specifically help you and your horse?
I have always wanted a Freeform, but my money has been going to my kids’ saddles and their pursuits. A Freeform would give my gaited Tennessee walker mare the freedom in her shoulders to move comfortably while giving me the proper riding position to be comfortable on our 50 mile rides. And who wouldn’t want a new Freeform? They’re GORGEOUS SADDLES!

Why are Freeform treeless saddles beneficial for horses and riders?
I don’t have any experience with Freeform brand but I’m very intrigued. I’ve used treeless saddles before and the benefits I’ve seen when trail riding are amazing! They allow freedom of movement and flexibility that other “treed” saddles don’t allow. When covering rugged terrain and steep trails, you need your horse to be able to use full range of motion to allow them to make full use of their muscles and such.
What challenges have you and your horse had with saddles and saddle fit?
My current mare is a 16 hand, heavily muscled mare with an upright head carriage and zero withers that are round. Traditional saddles don’t conform to her body structure and thus they slip and slide and I have to use extra tack to hold them in place. This can make for awkward movement and sometimes restrict her when we are in challenging situations. It can make for a dangerous situation.
How will a Freeform saddle specifically help you and your horse?
I truly believe a Freeform saddle would allow my mare the freedom of movement and flexibility she needs and deserves! I can fully concentrate on my ride and not worry about my safety and whether or not my mare is being harmed by my tack. I feel like she would be so much happier with a Freeform saddle!

Why are Freeform treeless saddles beneficial for horses and riders?
Freeform treeless saddles are beneficial to horses and riders due to the vast flexibility they offer. Their comfort, light weight design and high quality made for a long lasting saddle that is easy to fit when finding a new equine partner or changes that occur within yourself. The tailor made options for stirrup placement, seats, panel and inserts under the saddle make for an incredibly easy way to alter the saddle when and if needed.
What challenges have you and your horse had with saddles and saddle fit?
Where do I begin…
After my first horse crisis with an ill fitting saddle, I knew I wanted to seek out professional advice for getting a saddle to fit my endurance Arabian. After her consultation and suggestion, I found the exact saddle to fit my horse. I ended up purchasing this from England and shipping it here. After a couple months of use, my horse began to have a sour attitude while I was tacking up. I started watching how he moved on a lunge line with no tack to seeing him with my saddle on. The difference was very clear, the saddle did NOT fit. After pursuing another treed saddle option unsuccessfully, we started down the treeless route. I was very hesitant going treeless because of spine pressure, but after seeing how much more free his movement was, I knew he was happier in this set up.
How will a Freeform saddle specifically help you and your horse?
Freeform will absolutely make a difference for me and my horse. I’ve been very curious about an ultimate trail saddle set up, and would definitely like to have one for my other horse. He is starting his endurance career this year and I would love to add another fabulous saddle to my collection. I can’t say enough positive things about Freeform, it has been the BIGGEST difference to my program. Everyone at Saddle Up has been wonderful to talk to about ordering, advice, questions and anything to do with Freeform saddles!
Thank you for all you do for us and our horses :)

Really love these saddles!!! I personally don’t own one but I borrowed my friends and it was a complete change in attitude of my mare and mine too we totally worked and enjoyed the ride. My mare is a rescue who was pregnant when I got her she is an ex amish horse. Percheron and standardbred cross as is her gorgeous filly. So she is thick and wide and really hard to find a saddle to fit her… But this saddle fit perfect!!! Thanks for the chance to win one!!!

Freedom Treeless saddles are beneficial to both horse and rider for many reasons that are stated in your posts. Some of them being the ability to adjust the saddle in multiple locations to fit both horse and rider, lighter weight, and more freedom of movement for the horse are some of the best feature I like.
The challenges I have had fitting my two boys have been very frustrating. One is a Standardbred Pacer who is wide in the withers but needs more room than what most saddles have for his stride. English saddles work ok on him but most styles are not comfortable for me being of larger size than many riders. He is not a fan of western saddles as they interfere with his shoulder and in some cases hip movement and he also doesn’t like the added weight they sometimes have. My other horse is a Kentucky Mountain/Draft cross and we’re should I start with him 😊 High withers but broad shoulders, short back, gaited and 17 yrs old. Many of the same problems as the other horse but more times tan not my daughter will just ride him bareback to give him a break from the heavy Western saddle. That is another challenge I have is that two of ride these horse we are similar in size and shape but we both sit different. It’s so hard to find a saddle that is comfortable for everyone.
Freedom Saddles would allow me to adjust the saddle for both myself and whichever horses I decide to ride that day while still allow us both to be comfortable during our ride. The lighter weight will be easier on them ( and me as they are both 17+ hands) . Being able to feel the horses movements will allow me to adjust my riding according more easily. The adjustable cantal is exactly what my older horse needs as he tends get wider and smaller at the withers during different times of the year and has scars from others that used ill fitting saddles in his younger days. The freedom of movement and lighter weight are what my Standie needs. The Freedom Saddles sound like the exact thing I have been trying to find for my boys. Having a happy horse and rider makes for a wonderful relaxing ride!
